In these last years social integration has become a major issue for port cities and their port community. More and more initiatives can be identified all around the world, even if some of them have been implemented already a long time ago. They all have in common the fact that they do propose an overall and global program that is more or less integrated in a general management strategy plan. In this way they are able to propose long-term actions, establish a sustainable relationship with the citizens based on reciprocity.
